befitting and unforgettable beginning to welcome the foreign
participants to World Gourmet Summit 2000. Singaporean chefs
representing the participating establishments prepare this
cocktail reception especially to showcase New Asia cuisine.
Guests will rub shoulders with masterchefs, winemakers,
restaurateurs, dignitaries, media and sponsors. This event
is by invitation only.

The James Beard Foundation (JBF) is synonymous with the
highest standards of culinary excellence in America. Today
the JBF celebrates the country's culinary artists, provides
scholarships and educational opportunities, serves as a
resource for the industry, and offers members the opportunity
to enjoy the delights of fine dining.
This is a special out-of-house fundraising event that would
have specially created menus by the guest and resident chefs
of participating establishments, matched with the fine wines
of vintners.

World Pastry Cup & Bocuse
d'Or Dinner 14 April 2000,

World Pastry Cup or Coupe du Monde de la Pātisserie is the
World's most famous pastry competition created 12 years
ago. This event brings together the best pastry chefs of
the world andrepresents leading even of the profession.
Its purpose is to reveal the best young talents and to be
a real springboard for the young generations of this gastronomic
art.
The
Bocuse d'Or in France is what JBF is to America. It was
founded by Paul Bocuse, one of the leading masterchefs in
France and it honors leading chefs from around the world
through a host of culinary contests and activities.
This
event is organized for the first time in Singapore to create
and raise the awareness of these organizations in the Asia
region.
The evening's menu will be the collaboration between the
guest chefs and chefs of participating establishments for
an evening of wining and dining.
During these special events, there will be an introduction
to the World Gourmet Club. The exclusive World Gourmet Club
is dedicated to the promotion of interaction between gourmet
and culinary professionals through the collaboration of
major food events organised in different parts of the world.
We would like to take the opportunity to officially launch
the Singapore division, in conjunction with the St Moritz
Gourmet Festival.

An
evening to remember when all the guest masterchefs collaborate
to bring you a spectacular climax to the World Gourmet Summit
2000. The evening's menu will be paired with specially selected
wines introduced by the guest winemakers.
This
evening will be a spectacular showcase of signature dishes
from the Masterchefs accompanied by fine wines of guest
vintners. The banquet will unfold amidst glitzy entertainment
bringing an unforgettable and befitting climax for the food-adventure
in New Asia Singapore. This event will be held at The Westin
Stamford & Westin Plaza.
This
year's Grand Finale Dinner will be held in aid of the Singapore
Millenial Trust (SMT), which supports the Youth and Environmental
Support Groups in Singapore. Part of the evening's proceeds
will go to SMT.

of rare menus, many of which are mementos from special events

& Wales University from the United States, this unique menu
