Malhadinha Nova is a typical family farming state located in the heart of Alentejo. Guided by the passion and dedication of the new owners, the abandoned lands were transformed into a property capable of bringing forth traditional regional product of the highest quality. The elegance, complexity and intense fruit flavors reflect Malhadinha Nova's respect for nature and all the passion and dedication that goes into creating Malhadinha Nova wines. Malhadinha Nova winery unites many original features for the production of the highest quality wines. A selection of the best new technology combined with proven traditional techniques to ensure that the wines will truly reflect the quality potential of the vineyard. The winery is located alongside the vineyards and has been built into a hillside permitting vital steps of the winemaking process to occur by gravity. Grapes after hand harvesting in small boxes are rigously selected and fermented in refrigerated “lagares” . The barrel room is excavated deep into hillside to provide perfect conditions for maturing red wines. |
