Roger Asleson is director of public relations at Opus One Winery, a position he has held since 1995. Prior to his post at Opus One, Asleson worked in both the vineyards and cellar at Château Cheval Blanc, and managed public relations and wine education at Robert Mondavi Winery. His duties at Robert Mondavi included the creation of wine education seminars used throughout the U.S.; he also conducted a series of masterclasses for Decanter magazine in London. During that time, he acted as translator for Château Mouton Rothschild’s Chef d’Equippe, who visited Opus One in 1985 and collaborated with Robert Mondavi to lay out one of California’s first high-density vineyards. A contributor to the fine wine marketing handbook Spinning the Bottle, Asleson currently serves on taskforces for the Oakville Winegrowers and on Auction Napa Valley’s Strategic Partnership committee. |
