Born and raised in Maine, USA, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW earned a degree in English literature before moving to London, UK, with ambitions of becoming a playwright. In a twist of fate, Perrotti-Brown’s part-time work in a wine bar eventually led to a career in the London wine trade. In 2002 she moved to Tokyo, Japan and worked as a wine buyer and also became involved in several projects focusing on local Japanese grapes. Recently in September 2008, Perrotti-Brown achieved the prestigious Master of Wine (MW) qualification with a special award for outstanding performance in all three MW examinations.
