Educated at Deerfield Academy and Harvard University, Daniel Thomases’ wine writing career began in 1985 with his collaboration with Luigi Veronelli, Italy’s leading wine and food critic. He went on to become Italian correspondent for the publications of the Wine Spectator (1990-1996), Steve Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar (1999-2001) and The Wine Advocate (2003-2006). He wrote and edited I Vini di Veronelli, an annual guide to Italian Wine from 1993 to 2006 as well as the Italian entries for the Oxford Companion to Wine. Currently Thomases writes as wine columnist for 24, the monthly magazine of Il Sole 24 Ore, Italy’s leading financial newspaper, and has contributed to the Italian section of Hugh Johnson’s Pocket Wine Book since 2002. |
