Raffles Grill, Raffles Singapore

When the main building opened in 1899, the entire ground floor was devoted to dining. The Main Dining Room boasted cool marble floors, tall French doors, ceiling fans, elegant appointments and was “capable of seating 500”. At the turn of the century there was no dining room more handsome in the East.

In 1923, a portion of the Main Dining Room facing the Palm Court was set aside as a Grill Room. In the early 1950s the room was altered once again, this time undergoing redecoration in Tudor style for rechristening as the Elizabethan Grill in honour of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
Elegant and formal, Raffles Grill now looks much as it did when the management first invited diners to “book tables early to avoid disappointment”. With its classical detailing, beautifully restored French windows once again overlooking the Palm Court, the room conveys a sense of timeless grace. The service is attentive yet discreet. Here the traditional art of gracious hospitality has been perfected.

The skilfully orchestrated menu at Raffles Grill is a shining chapter to an already illustrious setting.  Dishes by Executive Sous Chef Mickael Le Calvez are imaginative yet original, perfectly ensconced in the flavours of contemporary French.
Raffles Grill also prides itself on its celebrated wine cellar, meticulously managed by our talented Wine Director, Mr Stephane Soret. To the traditional sources of France, Italy and Germany have been added outstanding vintages from newer wine regions such as California, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
