German Wine Queen - Julia Bertram

Julia Bertram from Ahr, one of Germany's northernmost wine regions famous for the quality of its red wines especially the Pinot Noir, has been crowned Germany's 64th Wine Queen. This is the fifth time since 1949 that a German wine queen has emerged from the vineyards of Ahr, which also happens to be the smallest wine region of Germany.

Having helped out at her family's vineyard for many years, 23 year-old Julia studied viticulture and has been surrounded by wine since young. She graduated from the famous Wine University of Applied Science in Geisenheim, Germany, earning a Bachelor degree in wine making and oenology. Masters studies in International Wein Economy were about to follow when Julia was elected German Wine Queen. She has currently put her further studies on hold for a year to share instead her passion for German wine around the world, with over 200 appointments including trade fairs, wine tastings and events like the Riesling World Tour.
