Tucked away in the lush dining paradise that is Dempsey Hill, The Disgruntled Chef was established by the award-winning chef Daniel Sia in September 2010. From its conception, The Disgruntled Chef was going to be unlike most venues in Singapore. Despite its quirky name, The Disgruntled Chef is serious about its food, innovative cocktails, great wine and warm service. Every process undertaken, from the ingredients sourced to the way service staff are trained, has been with the firm belief that informality should not mean cutting corners on anything.

In fitting with WGS’ 2013 theme of Artisan & The Art of Dining, Chef Daniel Sia has created a menu inspired by Spanish Catalan architect, Antoni Gaudi. Considered the great master of Catalan Modernism, with works including Park Güell and his magnum opus, the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s works go beyond any one style or classification. They are imaginative works that find their main inspiration in nature. Paired with a selection of Spanish white and red wines, Chef Daniel will express Gaudi’s organic and anarchic geometric forms of nature on a plate with a menu sure to delight the senses.
