Weingut Markus Molitor is the largest winery on Middle Mosel, with 38-hectare of vineyard, where five hectares are in the Saar region. All the attention is focused exclusively on three noble grape varieties traditionally associated with the Mosel – 95 percent Riesling, three percent Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and two percent Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc). Depending on the vintage conditions, annual production varies between 200,000 and 300,000 bottles. Weingut Markus Molitor offers a broad range of excellent wines in all categories, dry, off-dry and noble-sweet. Over the last ten years, they produced the best range of off-dry Riesling from all Mosel wine estates. In addition, around 20,000 bottles of sparkling wine (Sekt) are produced at the estate. The Molitor family has been making wine at their estate for eight generations. The home of the winery lies situated above the Moselle in the middle of the Wehlener Klosterberg vineyard, with a view over to the vineyards of Zeltingen.
