One of the milestones in Belgian chef Emmanuel Stroobant’s life has to be his decision to venture into Asia in 1997. His two-year stint in Kuala Lumpur earned him the recognition of ‘Best Expatriate Chef 1999’ by World Asia Media. Chef Stroobant subsequently moved to Singapore where he joined a cosy restaurant called The Fig Leaf, the predecessor of his wildly successful Saint Pierre which was inducted as a member of Relais & Châteaux in 2008. Besides starring in his popular television series Chef in Black, Chef Stroobant has also busied himself with the opening of several restaurants such as Rocks – Urban Grill + Bar, Brussels Sprouts, Picotin and The French Kitchen.
