Backed by its long history dating back to 1365, Smith Haut Lafitte is famous around the world for its wonderfully elegant red wine and the sophisticated bouquet of white. Spreading across 72 hectares, the estate has now approximately 67 hectares planted with vines. Besides the unique features of the soil help the grapes to ripen beautifully, special care is lavished by Daniel and Florence Cathiard on the production process of their reds and whites. This is one of the reasons why Smith-Haut-Lafitte has received several international accolades for their vintages.

The estate was bought over by Cathiards in 1990 and they have since devoted themselves to their life’s work of making great red and white wines at Smith-Haut-Lafitte. Several vintages are recognized as one of the best wines by connoisseurs around the world.
