WGS Honouring Unsung Heroes
S.O.U.L.
Solidarity, Originality, Unwavering, Local
Reimagined. Reforged. Resilient. The new theme for S.O.U.L 2020 is one that reflects the changing, uncertain times and the factors that remain the most important. Solidarity, for our choice to come together and work towards the common goal of unity in times of crisis. Originality, because all souls are steeped in it. Unwavering, because while we adapt and change to respond to information, our objective and passion to do our best remains. And Local, because the community around us is one that we should support the most in times of crisis, and the outreach it does for every single person is vital. S.O.U.L 2020 is not just a lofty goal for us to achieve, it is something that all of us are capable of doing, no matter what position in life you are in. It starts from the smallest of ripples, but it still reaches the ocean, and everyone can participate.
S.O.U.L 2020: Everyone Matters.
During this resilient time, the World Gourmet Summit would like to give back to the community, especially for those who need it most.
We are focusing our gaze on our unsung heroes: the healthcare workers currently on the frontlines battling COVID19. Often overlooked by members of the public, medical practitioners are currently working day and night tirelessly to control the spread of the virus, often with little to no rewards, and we want to acknowledge and salute their hard work. Thus, in collaboration with our partner restaurants, there will be special dishes to be delivered to hospitals that are handling the health crisis to show them our support. To commend their remarkable efforts from protecting Singapore from the virus, these special dishes will be exclusively available to healthcare professionals and show that the World Gourmet Summit cares.

We have a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals with a passion for delivering care and helping people take ownership of their health and healthcare needs. Here at our hospital campus, you will experience seamless and continuous care from initial diagnosis to treatment and follow up, as well as longer-term rehabilitative care, within a healing environment. Care extends beyond the hospital too as we work with healthcare partners to provide better care for you and your family.
We want Singaporeans, both young and old, to have access to good quality care in the community. Preventive health forms a large part of what we do to keep people well and healthy. Our healthcare vision is focused not only on treating diseases, but also preventing them. We aim to add healthy years to life. Before even laying the foundation for the hospitals, we sought residents' feedback in the north-east on what they would like to see in a hospital. We gathered feedback from the community on hospital design, understanding residents' healthcare needs, and created meaningful conversations that helped us design an integrated hospital development that truly addresses the needs of the community.
We focused on building a hospital that is built around prevention to beyond hospital care. Our vision - "Healthy Living. Fulfilling Life" and mission - "Better Health Together" were developed to guide and keep us on the right path. Our philosophy of care is based on prevention and wellness - from 'I' to 'WE' – from Illness to WEllness.
Community engagement, health outreach efforts, educational programmes and screening initiatives collectively underscore our mission. To bring our mission of "Better Health Together" to reality, the hospital team has built partnerships with community-based organisations, general practitioners and other healthcare partners in the northeast to promote healthy lifestyles and create greater awareness on preventive care even before the hospital opens its doors. Additionally, our doctors and healthcare team have been giving health talks on the management of chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension during health screenings and roadshows organised at community centres and faith-based organisations such as mosques and churches.
We are excited to be your healthcare partner as we support and work with you on your journey to health! show less
