Chef Bunchu`s deep appreciation for Vietnamese cuisine was developed at a young age growing up in Nong Khai, which is well known for its food that has a strong Laotian and Vietnamese influence. He was exposed to a variety of food which would fuel his lifelong passion for cooking. During his childhood days, he found the passion for cooking while helping out at his parent`s local street food restaurant. He will always remember the look of satisfaction on the guests` faces.
Inspired by his mother to become a Chef, he started working in a Vietnamese restaurant in Nong Khai. Since then, he has been serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine regionally like Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. Chef Bunchu feels that Vietnamese cuisine is very healthy as it uses a lot of fresh and organic ingredients, making it the choice of cuisine for the health conscious. He enjoys the challenge of ensuring thata all his cooking is served fresh, on time and of the highest quality. To date, Chef Bunchu has served members of the Royal family in Malaysia, ambassadors, ministers and top dignitaries like former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Henry Kissinger, Singapore’s late Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, late President S. R. Nathan, former Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo; royalties like the King and Queen of Sweden, Prince Albert of Monaco, Princess Anne and of course, celebrities like Sting, INXS and Bollywood iconic superstar Amitabh Bachchan. |
