Chef Johannes Alexander Jarno Eggen has amassed twenty years of experience in the culinary industry for both haute and nouvelle cuisine. Born in The Netherlands, Chef Eggen began his illustrious culinary journey learning from the best throughout Europe with experiences at luxurious three Michelin star restaurants such as Restaurant Parkheuvel and Restaurant Martín Berasategui in Spain. He steadily rose through the ranks of Demi Chef de Partie at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud in Ireland, to Head Chef at Restaurant De Lindenhof, before opening his very own fine dining establishment – Restaurant De Groene Lantaarn with his wife, Cindy Borger. Chef Eggen, spurred on by an entrepreneurial spirit, natural flair for excellence and a commitment to work with organic products from a private garden, has taken Restaurant De Groene Lantaarn to great heights. It was awarded 17 out of 20 points in the prestigious 2013 Gault Millau guide and two Michelin stars in the renowned Michelin Guide in 2015, placing them among the top restaurants to visit for fresh and contemporary cuisine. As a highly driven individual, he has also obtained the Master Pilot SVH Master Chef title, which is the highest degree of professionalism in the Dutch hospitality industry. When he is not busy innovating creations for discerning palates, Chef Eggen regularly sits on the jury panels of food and wine pairing competition such as the Copa Jerez and lends his passion for food and wealth of expertise to a young generation of chefs. |
