Mrs Gianna Fossati

Mamma Gianna was born in the city of Genova, Italy, in 1951. For many years, she worked at the Genova Train Station selling railway tickets. She later moved out of the big city to settle down with her family in a smaller village in the countryside of Liguria.

Mamma Gianna loves to cook spaghetti with seafood freshly caught by her husband, an experienced fisherman. Another specialty of hers is the Chard Pie. As she lives in a large house surrounded by a huge vegetable garden, olive and fruit trees, she doesn’t need to buy vegetables from the market. Mamma Gianna’s dishes are always made with her fresh garden vegetables and aromatic herbs. Her specialty dessert, the Jam Pie, will keep you coming back for more. Just ask her grandchildren, they demand a pie every visit, politely of course! 

She imagines Singapore to be very busy with many tall buildings and massive traffic jams. Knowing that ‘tall’ in her town means a maximum of 10 floors in a building, Mamma Gianna is definitely in for the shock of her life…
