Ellen Wu
One of the only Ambassadors of Authentic Italian cuisine certified by Academia Barilla after successfully passing the exam in Academia Barilla on the 10th and 11th of September 2012, Ms Ellen Wu obtained the prestigious Certificate of Proficiency in Italian Cuisine (C.P.I.C.): the first international certification of its type dedicated to Chefs from around the world that tests and values the theoretical and practical competence of chefs in the Italian cuisine tradition.
The C.P.I.C. Certification is situated between two other levels of certification instituted by Academia Barilla: F.I.G. (Fundamentals of Italian Gastronomy) and I.C.M.C. (Italian Culinary Master Chef). Together, these certifications have the objective of promoting and defending the Italian cuisine in the world, favoring the diffusion of authentic enogastronomic Italian culture in other countries. Ellen comes from Taiwan. She is the sales manager for TV Media of Hsei Yi Co. Ltd. where she’s also an official professional olive oil taster. In addition, she obtained certification as a professional olive oil taster from ONAOO(Organization National Association Oil Taster). Now there are only 7 certified professional oil taster in ONAOO, Ellen is the first and only one from Asia, until today. Wu is the author of two books, one on olive oil tasting and the other on Italian and Chinese cuisine. "I’ve been working for 10 years with Italian cuisine, because I import and sell pasta and oil from Italy. I often go to Italy, because I want to select the products that I import." |
