Jongkolnee Thoboonme
Commonly known as Ms. Noo, she has been creating and serving authentic Thai food in Singapore since 1988, having been the driving force behind the success of Thanying Restaurants. Educated in England, Ms. Noo did not start her career in Food and Beverage industry but banking. However, with her family’s passion in Thai cooking and handed down recipes of both royal and home-style Thai cuisine, she could not resist the temptation to share the true Thai taste to the world. After Thanying, Ms. Noo opened Sabai Fine Thai in 2002 together with her pioneer team of chefs with the same philosophy, cooking only authentic Thai cuisine. Since then, Sabai has been regarded by many as one of the best Thai restaurants in Singapore. Believing in lifelong learning, Ms. Noo extended her interests in the neibouring cuisines, namely Laotian, Vietnamese and Burmese. She travelled to those countries, tried and tasted different recipes and finally put them together and opened Longtail Asian Brasserie & Bar in 2013. With more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Noo and her team had a chance to serve many VIP guests as well as royalties from many countries. She has also participated in functions hosted by Royal Thai Embassies in Singapore as well as Hungary. In 2013, she accepted the invitation for a week-long Thai food promotion in Germany’s leading luxury resort “Schloss Elmau Luxury Spa & Cultural Hideaway”, the hosting resort of G7 summit this year. |
