With geographic location blessed to raise seafood, it comes as little surprise that Norway is most commonly associated with its exceptionally high quality seafood. Supplying seafood to more than 150 countries around the world, the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC) is the world’s largest joint market of seafood. Established in 1991 by the Ministry of Fisheries, NSC is a limited company where all of the shares are owned by the Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs. With an aim to provide the Norwegian fishing industry with competitive conditions and the chance to export their products to other markets, NSC is fundamental to maintaining Norwegian seafood’s positive reputation and keeping the fishing industry in Norway thriving.
