Winemaker: Willi
Bründlmayer
Owner of the Bründlmayer
vineyeard, Willi Bründlmayer has always taken challenges
in his stride. From tiling the soil at Grand Cru “Le
Montrachet” with just a single horse power at 17 years
old, to revolutionising Austrian’s main white varietal,
Grüner Vetliner, Bründlmayer is certainly committed
to the works of winemaking. And just for that, he was awarded
the Austrian State Prize in 1950. Through his passion for
France and his wife’s love for champagne, he created
“Bründlmayer Brut”, made from Burgundian
grape varieties, which have become Austria’s best sparkling
wine in the eyes of many critics. Most recently, the winery
was awarded “Winery of the Year” by the New York
Wine & Spirits. |

it after an agreement with his father that he be given the
same freedom and professional respect as previous winemakers,

experience, Barrett promises to "bring the vintage and the
vineyard to your table in a wine that is elegant, balanced

The word 'Cims' means
'summits', indicating the location of the vineyards high up
above Porrera on the steep schist slopes. The age of the vines
and nature of the terrain combine to give exceptionally low
yields, resulting in wine that has an amazing dense ruby colour
and extraordinary intensity.

Sara Perez, winemaker of Cims
de Porrera, is one with a world of experience in winemaking.
One would probably agree because at the age of ten, Perez
and her brother were already in-charge of the vinification
and ageing of Martinet wines. But not only is she an expert
with winemaking, Perez also has three degrees – one
in biological science, one in philosophy and literature and
lastly one in oenology. Perez is devoted to one thing –
that is to make great wines with native grape varieties, discovering
the charm of grapes previously ignored or unknown.
