As one of the youngest executive chef in Chinese cuisine in Singapore, Hong Kong-born Chef Chan was born to cook up a storm. Chef Chan’s beginnings in Chinese cuisine was inspired by his father who has been a Dim Sum chef for more than 40 years. After picking up core skills, from his father, he went on to further his culinary skills by understudying from multi-awards winning celebrity chef, Chef Pung Lu Tin for many years.
Chef Chan himself is a multi-award winning celebrity now. In 2019, he clinched two awards – Lee Kum Kee World Chefs (Nanxun) Championship Special Gold Award (Individual Events) and The Third World Master Chefs Competition for Cantonese Cuisine Macao Station (2nd place). In 2018, he emerged as first place in the International Master Chefs Competition in Seoul and was also crowned champion at the 2017 Cantonese Competition by World Master Chefs Association for Cantonese Cuisine in Malaysia.
Chef Chan’s wealth of experience comes from working in many established and well known restaurants such as Mott 32 (2 Michelin Stars), Resorts World Sentosa, JW Marriott Hotel Singapore, Conrad Centennial, Novotel and Mercure on Stevens.
Chef Chan is also a regular participant of culinary shows broadcasted on MediaCorp Channel 8 and Channel U, including “The Food We Love to Hate”, “The Sheng Siong Show”, “Hearts and Hugs”, “King of Culinary” and “Good Food on Sunday”.
