Chef Giorgio Maggioni who grew up in Monza, Milan has amassed more than 6 years of experience with a degree in culinary and hospitality to boot. The 34-year-old chef found his love for cooking when he was studying in Italy, and rose from the ranks through sheer hard work and tenacity in notable restaurants at luxurious hotels.
Prior to joining Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, his techniques were fine-tuned at Armani Hotel and Address Boulevard Hotel in Dubai where he was part of the pre-opening team. His foray into the industry started in France, where he learnt the art of folding and creating pastries, while his fervent pursuit to excel has taken him to Switzerland for a year where he was exposed to developing talents and working with chefs of high pedigree.
Today, he leads a talented team that continues to excel in delivering impeccable dining experiences and is committed to staying abreast of the industry trends in order to push the envelope for new and seasonal Italian dishes. His culinary finesse and repertoire of skills are showcased in beautiful and composed plates that remain deeply seated in traditional flavours. To satisfy his appetite for creativity and inspiration, he turns to books and Chef’s Table on Netflix. Outside of the kitchen, the candid chef spends his leisure time cycling and playing tennis, and on certain days, delving into the world of literature.
