Born in Korea and raised in Aspen, Colorado, Chef Akira Back’s work not only ranges from opening restaurants in North America, the Middle East, and Asia, but also television appearances on shows such as The Iron Chef America, The Today Show, and Food Network’s Best Thing I Ever Ate. He’s been awarded the title of “Rising Star” by Restaurant Hospitality (2008) and has had the distinct honour of hosting the prestigious James Beard House dinners six times. Chef Back's restaurant Yellowtail Restaurant & Lounge has helped named him “Best Chef in Las Vegas” by Las Vegas Weekly, and he’s participated in some of the culinary world’s most prestigious events, including Aspen Food & Wine Festival, Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival and Bon Appetit’s Vegas Uncork’d amongst others.
