Few vintners are as well-travelled as Christopher Cannan. Showing great interest in wines since young, Cannan went travelling to all the main wine producing areas of Europe when he was just 21. His travels brought him to famous wine producing areas including Bordeaux, Loire, Champagne, Germany, Alsace, Burgundy, Jerez and Oporto. These travels allowed him to learn from the best in various regions, providing precious experience which proved invaluable to him later.


In 1978, in order to pursue his desire to work with top quality wines, Cannan started Europvin to specialize in the sale of wines. By the 1990s, his contacts stretched all over the world, to countries like Australia, Japan and Singapore. He even opened markets in exotic regions including Russia, Poland, Barbados and Ecuador.

As an appreciation for his services to the cause of French wines, Cannan was acknowledged in February 1999 by his nomination as a “Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite Agricole” by the French government.
