Hubert de Boüard de Laforest

Born in 1956, Hubert de Boüard de Laforest graduated from the School of Oenology in Bordeaux. Integrated into the family vineyard, Château Angelus, in 1980, he eventually became the winery’s director in 1985. In the same year, he purchased Château de Francs in the Côte de Francs appellation together with Dominique Hébrard. In 1998, he purchased Chateau Le Fleur St. George in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation where the La Fleur de Bouard and the acclaimed Le Plus de La Fleur de Bouard is produced.

Hubert became President of the St. Emilion Grand Cru Association in 1991 until he resigned from the post in 1996 to allow the accession of Château Angelus to a Premier Grand Cru Classe.

Despite his resignation, he has continued to contribute to the viticulture community through various roles. He has been the Vice President of Bordeaux Grand Cru Union since 1990 and is responsible for Public Relations at the St. Emilion Viticultural Syndicate where he was the Vice President from 1991 until being elected president in 1999. He is also a member of National Institute of French Appelations and a partner in Bordeaux Negociant BVS. Today, he provides wine consultancy services in Spain, Lebanon, St. Emilion and Medoc.
