The evening started at Townhouse where guests ate two courses before boarding a riverboat to IndoChine Forbidden City for two other mouth-watering dishes. Bobby Chinn added a celebrity factor by showing up and provided much fun and laughter for the guests with his humour. After the guests finished their food at IndoChine Forbidden City, they once again boarded the riverboat to Brasserie WOLF for two desserts to end off the night. For a change of scenery, masterchef Cheong Liew who hails from Adelaide, Australia, presented his culinary demonstration to a group of enthusiastic gourmands just next to the poolside at Conrad Centennial Singapore. Not only did guests appreciate the fresh air in the outdoor setting, their sense of smell was tickled by the aromatic whiffs of the olive fried octopus and eggplant wafting from the pots. To promote the culture of Australia, Cheong also introduced his dish of seared kangaroo fillet with sweet potato purée to the delight of the audience. Wrapping up the class with the tequila, lime and celery semiffredo, it was a dessert that left many wanting more. View the gallery to find out more.

The most anticipated and talked about events of WGS2007, the E. Guigal wine masterclass and vintner dinner were sold out in a snap (there was even a wait list for the wait list!). The reasons were obvious- La Turque, La Landonne and La Moulin, three of E Guigal’s most treasured and most expensive labels that were being featured during the masterclass. Belgian Chef Sang-Hoon Degeimbre, also a fan of Guigal, prepared a seven course dinner which many diners praised for complementing the wines served.
