Born in Ipoh, Goh Chee Kong began his cooking career at an early age of sixteen. He came to Singapore in 1991 to look for more opportunities in the culinary arena. Working up the ranks from a junior cook, Goh built on his culinary experiences before landing at the Goodwood Park Hotel Singapore’s Min Jiang Restaurant in 2002 as the assistant chef. Now, he takes on the title of head chef of Min Jiang @ One North, a contemporary Chinese restaurant in Rochester Park which specialises in Peking duck. Goh was also awarded an excellence in hospitality personality and came out as one of the top five most promising chefs (Asian cuisine) at the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2006-2007.
