Food & Beverage Article of the Year Award
 
This award seeks to recognize a journalist who has written an outstanding article, which reflects and promotes the quality, variety and vibrancy of the culinary / dining scene in Singapore in the majority of its editorial content.

The submitted article must be published in any print medium (magazine, newspapers) for the first time in the country of origin between 1 January to 30 November 2000.

Sylvia Tan is freelance food and travel writer for various publications such as The Sunday Times, The Business Times, Her World, Women's Weekly and Wine & Dine. Prior to her current status, she was a newspaper editor for various sections - lifestyle, business and local news sections - with established newspapers like Singapore Herald, New Nation, The New Paper and The Straits Times.

Tan has also won several accolades before, including a special Singapore Press Holdings newspaper award for excellence in 1995 for her Cooking column in "The Sunday Times, Mad about Food".
